Startup "User Panic" Error Message
0By admin in : Errors // Feb 17 2010
The “User Panic” window indicates that your iCU2 installation has become
corrupt in some way and requires a clean installation of iCU2.
Please follow the instructions below to resolve the issue:
Assuming you installed iCU2 into the default directory, follow the instructions below:
1. CLOSE the iCU2 program if it is running.
2. Go to MY COMPUTER – C – PROGRAM FILES – iCU2 (it may be icuii) or do a
find/search via your START button, of “My Computer” for iCU2 and access the iCU2 folder that way.
3. The files and folders you need to *keep* are listed below:
All of the FOLDERS that end in .usr (and their contents)
And the following files:
auth
ignore
ignore.dat
pals
palnames.dat
server.lif
KEEP all of the files and folders mentioned above.
NOTE: ignore.dat and palnames.dat are only relevant to users of ICUII 5.6.0 and higher. If you are using ICUII 5.5.7 or lower you will *not* have these two files.
4. Delete ALL other files and folders from your icuii folder.
5. Download the trial version again and install it. You may have to re-enter your registration code after installing.
This should remove all traces of the iCU2 core files and let you have a clean installation of iCU2 without losing the pal list, saved messages, ignore list, your UserID, profile, etc.
When you run iCU2 for the first time, you will be asked to re-enter your name/location/comments again (but you won’t lose any saved messages or your profile, pal list, etc.)
