SMC RouterThe information below will assist you in setting one or more computer with iCU2 on an SMC Barricade Router (this is for the SMC2804WBRP-G Wireless Cable/ADSL Router, but should work on all SMC Barricade Routers).

*Always make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your Router before proceeding (unless otherwise stated). Check the your Router manufacturer’s Support Area on their website to obtain the newest firmware.

If you have only 1 computer to setup with the SMC Barricade Router, or if this is the first computer you are setting up for iCU2 on the SMC Barricade Router:

On iCU2:
1: Go into Tools – Options – Ports
2: Make sure you are set to “Network” connection
3: In Normal Ports and Network Ports areas make sure you have:
Primary Port: TCP 2000
Secondary Port: TCP 2001
ie:

Normal Ports – iCU2 Listens for connections on THIS COMPUTER at the following ports
Primary (TCP): 2000 Secondary (TCP): 2001
Network / Router / Firewall Ports Routed to this computer (IP Address: 192.168.1.xxx)
Primary (TCP): 2000 Secondary (TCP): 2001

4: Also, take note of your IP Address. It most likely will not be the same as the one above. You have to take note of the IP address you see in your iCU2 window.

On the SMC Barricade:
1: Log into the SMC admin area (on internet explorer type in 192.168.2.1 and hit enter or go)
2: Type in your password for the SMC Barricade (if you haven’t set a pass – it should be smcadmin )
3: Go into the NAT area, then Virtual Server area.
4: Make an entry that looks similar to this for No.1:

No. LAN IP Address Protocol Type LAN Port Public Port Enable:
1 (IP you took note of) TCP 2000-2001 2000-2001 ticked/checked

5: Click on Add
6: Try iCU2

If you want to add a second computer / iCU2 to your home network, make sure you have setup the first computer as detailed above, then do this to add the second computer:

On the second computer’s iCU2:
1: Go into Tools – Options – Ports
2: Make sure you are set to “Network” connection
3: In Normal Ports and Network Ports areas make sure you have:
Primary Port: TCP 2002
Secondary Port: TCP 2003
ie:

Normal Ports – iCU2 Listens for connections on THIS COMPUTER at the following ports
Primary (TCP): 2002 Secondary (TCP): 2003
Network / Router / Firewall Ports Routed to this computer (IP Address: 192.168.1.xxx)
Primary (TCP): 2002 Secondary (TCP): 2003

4: Also, take note of your IP Address. It most likely will not be the same as the one above. You have to take note of the IP address you see in your iCU2 window.

On the SMC Barricade:
1: Log into the SMC admin area (on internet explorer type in 192.168.2.1 and hit enter or go)
2: Type in your password for the SMC Barricade (if you haven’t set a pass – it should be smcadmin )
3: Go into the NAT area, then Virtual Server area.
4: Make an entry for iCU2-2 with the information you collected so that your Virtual Server area now looks looks similar to this:

No. Lan IP Address Protocol Type LAN Port Public Port Enable:
1 (IP of 1st computer) TCP 2000-2001 2000-2001 ticked/checked
2 (IP of 2nd computer) TCP 2000-2003 2002-2003 ticked/checked

5: Click on Add for the new entry you just made.
6: Try iCU2

If you want to add more computers / iCU2s to your home network, it is simply a case of following the steps again for the second computer and changing the settings so that each computer/iCU2 has it’s own unique values. Ie, computer 3 would have:

Primary Port: 2004
Secondary Port: 2005

being forwarded to the local IP address of that computer, with entry #3 being added to the SMC Barricade’s Virtual Server area.
