iCU2 slow to fetch the directory and show videos in public rooms when using XP Service Pack 2
If after installing Windows XP Service Pack 2, you find that you cannot receive more than 1 incoming video feed in the iCU2 Public Chat Rooms (listed at the bottom of the iCU2 Directories), or that your iCU2 program is slow refreshing directories, etc please read below:
Windows XP Service Pack 2 introduces new security features which limit the amount of concurrent TCP connections to your computer. In doing this, Microsoft have rendered the Public Chat feature of iCU2 slow at finding and establishing new video connections.
An unofficial fix is available which involves you using a program called XP Antispy. This program will revert you back to being able to have unlimited concurrent TCP connections. If you wish to perform the fix, please visit the website below and download XP AntiSpy.
Once downloaded and installed. Run XP AntiSpy and you should see a screen like this (only the version number will be different):

Then click on “Special” at the top of XP Antispy. There you will see “Connection Limit“. Click on that and you will be met with a message that you must read before proceeding. After reading, click on “Yes, I got it” and you will be able to change the settings.
iCU2 requires you to switch to “unlimited“, as seen in the image below.

After selecting unlimited, remember to press “patch” and you will then see a screen that says:

After seeing this window, click on OK and restart your computer so that the changes can take affect.
If at any time you want to go back to the default 10 connections, simply re-read this tutorial and select “reset to initial state” on the Connection Limit window. Remember that if you do this, iCU2 Public Rooms may not function correctly until you revert back to the “unlimited” connections.
Please note that if you attempt this, it is done at your own risk and we cannot be held responsible for any issues that may arise from attempting this. The only alternative to doing this, is to revert back to Windows XP Service Pack 1.
Also, if you find that the fix works for a while, then stops working. The chances are that Microsoft released a Windows Update which will require you to visit the XP-AntiSpy site again to download and install a new version which will fix the issue.
