I Upgraded iCU2 and Lost Pal List, Saved Messages

This can happen if settings on your registry change or are deleted (sometimes due to corruption of the registry). Or if you have moved your iCU2 folder to a different location since your last installation / update.

Please try this (make sure iCU2 is turned off before attempting this):

1: Right mouse click on the desktop icon for iCU2 that normally displays your pal list/saved messages
2: Select “Properties”
3: Select “Find Target” (98/Me/2000/XP users) or “Open File Location” (Vista users) on the new window that appears
4: You should now be in your original iCU2 folder
5: Leave that window open and now Right mouse click on the desktop icon for iCU2 that you want to transfer the pal list/saved messages to
6: Select “Properties”
7: Select “Find Target” (98/Me/2000/XP users) or “Open File Location” (Vista users) on the new window that appears
8: You should now be in your new iCU2 folder

Leave both windows open (so that it’s easy to transfer the files)

9: In the window that contains your original iCU2 pal list / saved messages, locate all of the folders that end with .usr
and copy them (you can either copy/paste or drag and drop) into the iCU2 folder that you want to transfer the files to
10: Once you have transferred all of the .usr folders, locate these two files in your original iCU2 folder:

pals
palnames.dat

….and copy them to the new iCU2 folder.

If you want to transfer your Profile over, also copy these two files to your new iCU2 folder:

auth
server.lif (not servers or servers2)

You should now have transferred all of the .usr folders plus the 4 files above (pals and palnames.dat, auth and server.lif)

Now try starting the newer iCU2 and you should have your pal list and saved messages available to you. If everything seems to be in place, you may
want to delete the original iCU2 desktop icon in case you accidentally click on that to start iCU2.

Please note that you may have to wait 30 minutes after doing the transfer before your registration code will be accepted.
