Apple Mac User Information

Cybration / iCU2 are currently working on a standalone version of iCU2 for ALL Macs. However, until this is completed, you can run iCU2 via a Windows installation via one of the options below as long as you are using one of the new Apple Macs that use Intel processors:

VMWare Fusion

Parallels

Bootcamp

The only known issue with iCU2 and VMWare Fusion / Parallels is the inability to play music directly through your soundcard to other users on iCU2. Presumably due to limitations with their audio drivers.

A new (free) alternative is also available called VirtualBox. More information and the Mac osX (intel) version can be found at the link below:

VirtualBox

Oh so YOU are the developer we should have hired…It’s so easy in your mind ah? What were we thinking hiring an actual Mac development team? pffffff

  2. kyle May 31, 2010 6:15 pm

well apparently you are wasting that money then and just handing it to developers for free since it is taking them a year to build a software that is not that hard to make.

  3. grace May 31, 2010 4:00 pm

Wow – that’s just genius Kyle – let me go tell the developers we’ve had working on it for the past year and half to stop.. so we can take your advice and stop being so selfish!

  4. Kyle May 31, 2010 3:53 pm

well they need to stop being selfish with money and just hire a software developer. Cause they will make their money back eventually from all the mac users they lost and don’t want to pay for a whole new operating system to slow their macs down.

  5. BobsYourUncle May 31, 2010 12:49 pm

When will you be letting people know whether or not they can try the Mac version?

  6. Garry May 27, 2010 3:34 pm

Like everyone else I will believe it when it happens. And so far have wasted so much money trying to support it on virtual system on my mac with windows plus clogging up my mac with window partitions on
my hardware. So like the rest i loved my icu but I can’t live without my mac. Sorry guys.

  7. Garry May 27, 2010 3:28 pm

too expensive to run virtual systems. E.g replacing microsoft windows twice upgrades, windows software, security, cams while running a slowdown mac hardware

  8. grace May 26, 2010 12:55 am

@ nickerless We simply cannot put out a public beta until its been tested. Need to take steps in order. Don’t worry, I assure you this is NOT a conspiracy against Mac users :)

  9. Nickerless May 26, 2010 12:43 am

Where is the link to download the Mac beta then?

  10. Never Mind® May 25, 2010 8:51 am

  13. icu2Kev May 2, 2010 8:09 pm

O look at the last video I posted and you see me using the mac version on a MAC book and not in a virtual machine but in mac osx.

  14. icu2Kev May 2, 2010 8:05 pm

Hey Frank, seeing how you are all knowing all seeing why don’t you go to whizkids.com and find a programmer and send him over to work with the guys here. Surely there are dozens available.
I love this forum. You get to see just how people react when they want something. To correct your position on us just prolonging you buying licenses. If I was worried about that I would not come here and tell you you’re arrogant like a 13 year old. I appreciate the feedback even if you are misguided. You can’t help but enjoy the cocky arrogance of a total stranger calling you names and telling you he knows what you do better than you. Lets see you called us liars 2 or 3 times in this letter. Said we were extorting money and a few more choice things. You are some piece of work. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?
    Have a nice day.

what a bunch of loosers at Cybration, what the f**k kind of programmers do you employ if you can’t even get a MAC version out. Also get some new PR people on board, your communication around a MAC version sucks.. get it over with, just post a message that it is never going to happen.

Now there is a delay because of new servers and stuff… yeahh right, like they came just plunging from the sky and ’sort of happened’ don’t you guys update eachother on developments. Man I have never ever seen such a bad performance.

I bet the is a whizkid out there somehwre who can have it up and running in no time, and have iPhone versions as well.

Mac version, my ass, just Cybrations way to keep MAC users paying their license while they wait.

Yeah, I purchased ICUII about 10 years ago. Not soon after that the killed support for the MAC version.

For 10 years now we have been reading excuse after excuse as to why they don’t support the MAC.

I think it’s time they come clean as to why the MAC was killed.

I’ve heard the rumors about the truth.

  17. Steve April 23, 2010 5:29 pm

LOL! I still have ICUii version 2.0.1 for Mac on an old machine. Doesn’t run of course. Other thing I still have is the email where they PROMISE that the Mac hasn’t been forgotten, but they’d release a Mac version just as soon as they finished version 4.0 for Windows (completely skipping over that version 3 had never even been considered for the Mac, and that version 2 just suddenly stopped working for us when they upgraded the servers).

  18. paconyc April 18, 2010 6:27 pm

I’ve waited 10 years for the promised Mac version of icu2. I had stopped believing that it might actually become a reality. Stupidly allowed myself to succumb to the hype again. Finally I do not believe that icu2 is now working on or ever will distribute a mac version of icu2. That’s a shame. But the reality is I can live without icu2 – as I’ve done for the past 10 years. But I cannot and will not live without my mac! So good-bye icu2.

  19. jeff April 17, 2010 6:06 pm

It is a shame for years of being promised a mac solution but zip. I agree with a previous comment of it being a publicity stunt.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wake me up when it happens

  21. Wolves0208 March 24, 2010 8:18 am

Ia Icuii ever coming to Macs, I am not a fan of windows and this is the only program I need left on my Mac. Is there anytime frame?

    Mike

  22. kev@icu2 March 19, 2010 1:24 pm

Progress on the MAC release has slowed a bit. This is due to the new generation of icu2 servers and features in the Mac and Windows versions. We are working at it as best we can.

  23. belfast March 19, 2010 8:59 am

I dont think there will be a version for mac ever.
It’s just publicity to show that the company cares when in fact they dont give a $hit about mac users.
Only how to make money out of people and never invest.

  24. timbucken March 11, 2010 2:29 pm

Icu2 has been coming soon to Mac for entirely too long…. what’s the hold up??? Can you give any estimates on timing?

  25. dupersonic March 11, 2010 3:37 am

    i NEED icuii!
i want to play trivia again
    ICUII FOR MAC PLEASE!!!
    =)

  26. Agustin March 5, 2010 6:28 pm

You are telling that “iCU2 are currently working on a standalone version of iCU2 for ALL Macs” since year 2000… 10 years is not enough? Plis tell the truth!!!!!!!!!

  27. mike March 5, 2010 3:47 am

I miss ICUII so much. It’s the only thing I miss since switching for a PC to MAC. I’d love to be a beta tester.

  28. Anonymous March 3, 2010 3:03 am

Is it true that ICUII for mac will be available on the 5th of this month?????

  29. brisbear February 27, 2010 7:27 pm

  30. Anonymous February 27, 2010 2:45 pm

I have just been waiting….. let me think nearly six mouths, since a freind told me about iCu2. Ithink I’m going blue from holding my breathe …….cough

  31. Frank February 26, 2010 10:49 pm

I too love ICUII and have bought Parallels and a Windows operating system just to use it. I’m also very happy to be a beta tester. As a Mac developer I think I can help a lot. Do you have a time line yet?

    Frank

  32. dgary February 22, 2010 4:05 am

I would love to beta test the upcoming Mac software. I’ve really missed icu2 since switching to my Mac. There is nothing like icu2!!!
