The information below will assist you in setting one or more computer on iCU2 with a 2 Wire Home Portal Router (this is for the 2wire Home Portal 1000S, but should work on all 2wire Home Portal Routers).
*Always make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your Router before proceeding (unless otherwise stated). Check your Router manufacturer’s Support Area on their website to obtain the newest firmware.
If you have only 1 computer to setup, or if this is the first computer you are setting up for iCU2:
On iCU2:
1: Go into Tools – Options – Ports
2: Make sure you are set to “Network” connection
3: In Normal Ports and Network Ports areas make sure you have:
Primary Port: TCP 2000
Secondary Port: TCP 2001
ie:
| Normal Ports – iCU2 Listens for connections on THIS COMPUTER at the following ports | |
| Primary (TCP): 2000 | Secondary (TCP): 2001 |
| Network / Router / Firewall Ports Routed to this computer (IP Address: 192.168.1.xxx) | |
| Primary (TCP): 2000 | Secondary (TCP): 2001 |
4: Also, take note of your IP Address. It most likely will not be the same as the one above. You have to take note of the IP address you see in your iCU2 window.
5:Click on OK and close iCU2
On the 2Wire Home Portal:
1: Log into the 2wire Home Portal admin area (on internet explorer type in 172.16.0.1 and hit enter or go)

4: Click on the link that says Firewall Settings
5: In “Select a computer”. Choose the hostname of your computer from the pull down menu
6: Click on “Add a new user defined application”
7: Make an entry that says:
Application Name: iCU2-1
Protocol: TCP
Port or Range: 2000-2001
Protocol Timeout (seconds): 86400
Map to Host Port: (leave this area empty)
Application Type: None (default)
8: Click on Add Definition
9: Click on the Back button at the bottom right of the screen
10: Make sure that your computer’s Hostname is still selected in the pulldown menu.
11: Locate iCU2-1 in the list of Applications on the window on the left side, click on iCU2-1 to highlight it then click on ADD> so that iCU2-1 moves to the Hosted Applications window
12: Click on Done
13: Start iCU2 and see if you can receive calls.
If you want to add a second computer / iCU2 to your home network, make sure you have setup the first computer as detailed above, then do this to add the second computer:
On the second computer’s iCU2:
1: Go into Tools – Options – Ports
2: Make sure you are set to “Network” connection
3: In Normal Ports and Network Ports areas make sure you have:
Primary Port: TCP 2002
Secondary Port: TCP 2003
ie:
| Normal Ports – iCU2 Listens for connections on THIS COMPUTER at the following ports | |
| Primary (TCP): 2002 | Secondary (TCP): 2003 |
| Network / Router / Firewall Ports Routed to this computer (IP Address: 192.168.1.xxx) | |
| Primary (TCP): 2002 | Secondary (TCP): 2003 |
4: Also, take note of your IP Address. It most likely will not be the same as the one above. You have to take note of the IP address you see in your iCU2 window.
5:Click on OK and close iCU2
On the 2Wire Home Portal:

6: Click on “Add a new user defined application”
7: Make an entry that says:
Application Name: iCU2-2
Protocol: TCP
Port or Range: 2002-2003
Protocol Timeout (seconds): 86400
Map to Host Port: (leave this area empty)
Application Type: None (default)
8: Click on Add Definition
9: Click on the Back button at the bottom right of the screen
10: Make sure that your computer’s Hostname is still selected in the pulldown menu.
11: Locate iCU2-2 in the list of Applications on the window on the left side, click on iCU2-2 to highlight it then click on ADD> so that iCU2-2 moves to the Hosted Applications window
12: Click on Done
13: Start iCU2 and see if you can receive calls.
If you want to add more computers / iCU2s to your home network, it is simply a case of following the steps again for the second computer and changing the settings so that each computer/iCU2 has it’s own unique values. Ie, computer 3 would have:
Primary Port: TCP 2004
Secondary Port: TCP 2005
being forwarded to the local IP address of that computer.
